CrossFit Level 1 Certification
I am starting my CrossFit and coaching career simultaneously, and am excited to continue growing in both areas. Playing sports my entire life really made an impact on my love of fitness. I got my degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science while playing college basketball. I had a solid career, breaking records and leading our team to our first NCAA tournament win. I was nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year, highlighting my career on the court and academic achievements. I was the first Pioneer to be named on the NCAA regional tournament team. Basketball taught me what working hard and doing things with excellence is like at a high level.
Playing college basketball caused a lot of internal turmoil. The pressure of being the captain of the team and leading scorer caused a lot of doubt and mistrust in my abilities. My biggest turning point was my senior year of college, when I knew that this was the end of my career, and playing with freedom & trusting my abilities. It did not happen overnight; it took time in the gym and working on my confidence. I had to remind myself that my worth was not in my abilities but in who I am as a person.
I love serving people and bringing some joy! I want everyone to fall in love with fitness, and grow as a person, not just physically, but mentally as they start to believe in their abilities.
